The Sarajevo Graduate School of Business (SGSB) offers the only AACSB-accredited Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as in the entire region. Founded as part of the USAID-funded "Graduate Business Education Project (GBEP)" initiative, SGSB is in constant touch with students, potential applicants and local companies seeking skilled employees. SGSB leadership firmly believes that a growing number of young professionals, because of their numerous obligations at work and home, are looking for shorter, more intensive educational programs.

To meet its vision of providing affordable, internationally-accredited business education, SGSB offers an internationally-accredited MBA program consisting of 10 courses and lasting only 11 months.  In accordance with this philosophy, SGSB has graduated 94 MBA students and trained over 1,000 businesspeople in management, finance and accounting since its inception in February of 2004.

SGSB is an independent entity and operates as part of the International Business Education Foundation (IBEF). SGSB currently offers its MBA program in cooperation with Texas A&M University – Commerce (TAMU) and the International University of Sarajevo (IUS). Upon completion of this program, students are awarded two diplomas – one internationally-recognized and AACSB-accredited EMBA diploma awarded by Texas A&M University – Commerce, and another locally-recognized diploma „Magistar ekonomije“ awarded by IUS.

SGEB has an impressive list of international and local partners. Since 1889, Texas A&M-Commerce has been in the business of business education. A member of the prestigious Texas A&M University System, the university has campuses in Dallas, Mesquite, Navarro College and Midlothian. The vibrant campus hosts a state-of-the art planetarium, recreation center, and science building - soon to be joined by a multimillion student center and an alumni center. This research-intensive flagship university with 10 colleges was recently ranked 1st in the US by "The Washington Monthly" for "tangible contributions to the public interest." The magazine "U.S. News and World Report" ranked Texas A&M in 3rd place nationally as a "best value" among public universities. Many of its degree programs are ranked among the top 10 in the country.

Its local partner, IUS, was founded in June 2004. In January 2005, IUS was officially registered and endorsed by the Ministry of Education of the Sarajevo Canton Government. IUS provides high quality and fully accredited university education to Bosnian and international students. The medium of instruction and communication is English. IUS currently enrolls over 1000 students from 18 different countries. IUS faculty and staff come from 15 different countries. With construction well under way on a state of the art campus in llidža, IUS is fulfilling its intent to establish a permanent presence in Sarajevo.

The following courses are taught in Sarajevo as part of the SGSB EMBA program: Ethics, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Management Skills Development, Strategic Management, Advanced Managerial Accounting, Statistical Methods, Managerial Economics, Applied Business Research and MBA Project. Lectures are organized into two semesters, and courses are designed as modules. Faculty is comprised of lecturers coming from the USA, BiH, and other countries as well. All faculty members hold a PhD, and have studied or lectured at universities such as: UCLA, Berkeley, Yale, Columbia, etc. All classes are entirely based on TAMU curriculum and are taught in English.

SGSB students and especially those who did not have a chance to attend educational programs outside of Bosnia have indicated their satisfaction with this system of education and grading. The SGSB grading scale ranges from A to F with A being the highest passing grade. The work of all students is continuously evaluated, and their final grade is comprised of numerous criteria: class participation, individual work, team work, mid-term exam and a final exam. Classes are taught in IUS classrooms with modern computers and a constant access to Internet.

The tuition for this program is 19,500 BAM and it is possible to pay it in easily-affordable installments.
